Spoons are the simplest type of lure. They basically look like a spoon, the same spoon you use to eat your meals with. Spinner is a blade that swivels around on a spindle when retrieved from the water. The revolving blade reflects light hence giving in a flashing appearance. Lure anglers have a pretty good selection of this type of lure.Surface lures are used as the title would suggest, on the surface. The most cinematic of all the lures as the fish can be seen pursuing and taking in the lure. Surface lures are action packed as you can see the fish taking the bait or lunging for it. This lure type is the most exciting of them all.
Floating driver lures come in a wide array of shapes and colors. Another must have for lure anglers, this range covers great depths. From just a little under the surface to fifteen feet deeper. The depth of the lure will depend of course on the angle of the cast and the lures shape. The vane, shape, body and size of a lure will give its fluid movements. Tapered and streamline makes a good selection that will allow coverage for all angles.
Suspending plugs have average buoyancy, once it is cast in and dives into a certain depth because of its buoyancy it will remain suspended in that depth. Best used near water features like weed beds, rocks, and river banks. Minor movement can cause another action packed lunge from your prey. Available in a wide selection of colors, shapes and sizes.
Stinking plugs are best used when fishing in deep water. Another diving plug that has an awesome sink rate, sink rates determine the distance the lure has gone down during a given time.
Jerk baits do not have movement its own movement. Jerking movements from the rod will cause he lure to come to life, hence its name.
Soft baits are maid of soft rubber; this also comes in many shapes, sizes, colors and form. This type is used in both fresh and saltwater fishing. They can be used in the same manner as a jerk bait also similarly like a plug.
